You probably already know all this, but for any readers who don't and are interested:<br /><br />The opening quote ("Create in me" to "thou wilt not despise") is two chunks of Psalm 51 (10-13 & 15-17).<br /><br />The paragraph that follows is made up largely of phrases from other Psalms (92:2, 74:16, 121:4).<br /><br />"Searcher of hearts," is used by Paul as a name for God in the letter to the Romans. There are a few other incidents of phrases pulled from the Psalms and other parts of the Tanakh in the rest of the text; I may be missing other allusions to the Christian canon because I don't know the Greek scriptures as well as I know the Hebrew.Kelly WAJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01901648085729486369noreply@blogger.com
